Susan Lincoln
Susan Lincoln was born on the North East coast of England and has always enjoyed a passion for the arts. She moved to Cumbria over 30 years ago attracted to the wild rugged countryside of the Lake District. Susan has been a prolific painter for the past two decades, taking her inspiration from the surrounding environment to create idyllic and vibrant scenes. Her African Grey parrot often sits on her shoulder advising her along the way as she paints.
"I like my work to have a happy or magical element to it. Art should make you smile as well as think. When I am painting, everything seems right. The outside world falls away and I am immersed in the world I’m creating.”
In 2006, she began to exhibit her work and found immediate enthusiastic response. Renowned Cumbrian artist Conrad Atkinson was an early admirer and collector. She has enjoyed a growing chain of exhibitions across Cumbria, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Edinburgh ever since.
